Hey CCP! I want a ship that actually has some use for free... this is a hacking ship that any real 0.0 or low sec pilot would never be caught dead in. Obviously because if they are caught in it they are dead.
Give me the BS, or anything else... we give you enough $$ each month, how about instead of trying to fix lag that never seems to go away you give us a ship that actually has some solid functionality. Hell I'm still waiting for a ship that actually is a benefit for it's race... I've yet to see it but so be it. Guess I will have to wait for next year.

PS: I would remind everyone that its not the value of the gift thats important its the thought that has the real meaning.
There is a difference between a gift that is useful and another that is either a re-gift, refine fodder, or storage never to see space... CCP has created a niche ship that will be useless to 99% of the people in this game.

Do you guys really think CCP is going to give every subscriber a ship that has stats that can meaningfully effect game play? This is just a little trinket to introduce an aspect of Incursion,(as the Primae was to PI) and at the same time give us a collectible gift.
Stop whining and be appreciative of the good material they produce, I am sure we will see a further incarnation of the Echelon in the coming months.

The ship is doing nothing to affect anything in Incursion, it brings nothing to the game at all. All it will be is a noob ship that will make the noobs feel all powerful till they realize they will loose it the first time they undock and bring it into low or nul sec.
They should make a ship that not everyone can fly out of the box with a one skill training to sit in it.
Give one of the new ships to the people, make it that they will receive one of the new ships depending on their race. Mim will receive the mim ship, gal will receive one of their own, etc... noobs will have something to work towards, those older characters will be able to use them, and choose to keep it or not.
Now that would be a Christmas present worth having. Not the ship they are offering.

The point a lot of people here are trying to make is it's not a free ship, it took resources to design and implement, resources of dev time that could have been put to use getting stuff fixed in the game or worked on towards the incursion expansion. All these "free" items and "vanity" items we'll be getting in incarna are paid for using our monthly subscription fees.
I understand what you're saying but you're wrong. The items you have NOW are paid for using your monthly subscription. The items you 'will' be getting are bonus. Your subscription is that you subscribe to the game 'as is'. Thats all you're entitled to. If you get bored of 'as is' you can quit but CCP don't owe you anything. This is a bonus on top of the bonus of Incarna etc.

If they paid someone out of pocket instead of with the money they get from our monthly/yearly fees then you are right... but since we know they aren't doing that, we have a right as subscribers to *****.

Honestly, It's embarrassing to read most of these posts.
CCP, in all sincerity, thank you for the lovely ship. I will cherish it for as long as the gankers will allow me to.
CCP Knows exactly what type of people play this game... they know what sells and what is being played in the market as well as what is being flown. The ship offered is not one of those kinds of ships.
This ship looks like an idea that came about while drinking goldschlager... an interesting idea, but nothing that the average user could ever use. Hell give me a snowball launcher and I'll be happy.

Honestly I'd be ****ed off if I got a ship that looked like anything and is as useless as this ship is. It is a specialty ship that can't be used except for one case. One medium slot, and that's it... really? Just give me a shuttle with a medium slot and you got the same thing.
I pay for a year up front... I expect specific things, like functionality out of my ships.
Also, with a Christmas gift you don't like, you normally will get a gift receipt and you'll be able to return the gift and get what you really wanted. Give me 1/2 a bill and I'll be happy... give me a ship I'll never use in a system that any ship that doesn't have a strong defense gets popped in a heartbeat, then you'll see why I don't want this ship or need it.
Also has anyone even read the description of the ship and the hacking unit? Talk about being non-descriptive...

Are you serious? Your joking with me aren't you. Look, I'm probably never gonna have a use for a Minmatar Breacher, but I certainly wouldn't complain if I woke up one morning to find one in my hanger.
Are you saying that as part of your monthly payment, CCP owes you a christmas gift that makes your life just so fantastic that you are walking around on a rainbow the rest of your days? I don't remember that in contract.
Look, I'm brand-new to EVE, so I am not jaded yet. My eyes are still full of hope and promise. I left WoW because of childish behavior, and I am not saying anything I've seen here comes anywhere close to WoW, but the fact that I am reminded of it should still give you pause.
CCP should be kissing the ass of those that pay up front... we are in a guaranteed contract for that six months or a year, good or bad we can't pull out like those that pay a month at a time. Yes we pay less ultimately but we also have the greatest to loose as well.
If you want to keep the CCP ideal, which is that have some people put a year in and realize that CCP doesn't care about it's people except to keep them happy enough to actually play the game, but frustrated enough with how things are going that they play only because they have put so much effort into a character they might as well keep it going... then fine. But how about for once you make those people really happy and give them something they can use instead of something that only .001% of the people will ever use any time whatsoever.
As for the WoW comment, and? WoW is a kid's game this is a game in which it takes a year to really get a good character going... this is a game for people who don't mind spending 3/4 of your time training, and the rest fighting or loosing ships, or trading, playing the market, etc... this game is nothing close to WoW...
At least when Blizzard comes out with something free, it is useful.

How many people scanned or even thought about it until we got the Zephyr. Now all those anomalies are no longer quite so hidden.
The Primae, well not so much. Tried running PI in it and frankly found that, except for perhaps people new to this without the skills/assets for industrials being able to actually haul around command centers, it was not terribly useful.
Now the Echelon is specifically designed to get more people involved with hacking. I mean, I can't even fit the ship since I don't have, even after a couple of years in game, that skill yet.
So I can understand the angst that 'seemingly' useless ships may have to really long-term players, but still appreciate the thought that goes into these concept ships.
Plus the design is pretty cool....
Any noob out of a trial account can use this... it's not that difficult to get into. Hell I had these skills nearly 5 months ago.
Give us a ship that people that have a year under their belt will use... almost everyone I've spoken to in game said they will horde them, but they will never use it.
